FRATERNIZATION FRIENDSHIP & COOPERATION PACT

In the Community of Ergates, today, the 30th of June 2006, between the following undersigned

• Mr. Kyriacos K. Christodoulou, President, representing Ergates Community Council and
• Mr. Geoprgios Gavrielides, Mayor, representing Kroussia Community Council,

Acting according to KSE decisions 13/2005 and 45/2006 of Ergates Community Council and Kroussia Municipality correspondingly, the pact of Fraternization, Friendship & Cooperation between the two Local Administration Authorities is signed.

Goal of the Pact is the meeting of the inhabitants of the two areas, for further development of friendship relations, as well as cultivating the spirit of sincere cooperation in all development sectors, with the precondition of peace and promotion of a fair solution to the national Cypriot question.

Community and Municipal authorities as well as the inhabitants of both areas involved will have to cooperate as of today and realize:

• bringing Hellenism closer in Greece and Cyprus
• making peace, National Recession and the fair solution to the Cypriot question possible, making relations between Balkans and Mediterranean stronger within the frame of their power and capability.
• Further development, expansion and stabilization of friendship and cooperation of all people of both parties for their own best interest and their surrounding cities and countries.
• Exchange of useful experiences and ideas, as well as mutual learning of each other’s history in socio-economical and spiritual activity.

The exchange will have to take place within the frame of:

• Administrative and Economical activity
• Scientific, Spiritual and Cultural activity
• Improvement and development of democratic forms of Local Administration
• Improvement of the service provided to the people and upgrade of their quality of life
• Preserving traditional architecture and cultural heritage
• Development of spiritual, educational and cultural life.
• Protection of the environment, public health, education, sports and tourism.
• Realizing several programs concerning painting, sculpture, photography and book exhibitions, folkloric events, cultural events (traditional music and dance performances), theatre performances, academic and historical lectures and seminars, publishing.
• Development of cooperation in all levels as far education, history and the environment are concerned.

All the above-mentioned will be achieved with the exchange of missions and team work, cooperation aiming:

1. to exchange ideas and experiences on city-residential and local administration issues, managing and exploiting of financial resources , serving the public
2. to the realization of developmental projects for Industrial and Trade activities.
3. to upgrade the quality of life
4. to cultural and educational development
5. to publishing books regarding the history, the culture and storiology of both parties.

In order to achieve the above mentioned relations between the two parties, we shall have to exchange groups of representatives of different sectors and we, as responsible and coordinating Local Authorities, shall value and appreciate the progress of development of this Fraternization, Cooperation and Friendship Pact.

The present pact consists of two (2) pages is undersigned and sealed in five (5) true copies
